Lot Essay

Part of an Important Private Collection, the present reference 116619LB is preserved in very good overall condition. The case and deployant clasp retain the original protective stickers.

For the first time in their history, Rolex created an all-blue Submariner crafted in a white metal. Wonderful hues of blue could be found on the dial and Cerachrom bezel leading to its moniker, the 'Smurf'. The color of blue utilized has a deep, vibrant richness that pairs well with the luster of the precious metal.
