Lot Essay

The world time 5230G-010 was introduced in 2017 in conjunction with the 'Art of Watches Grand Exhibition' in New York. Limited to only 300 pieces and exclusive for the American market, the timepiece is powered by calibre 240 HU movement and cased in 18k white gold.

Highly attractive, the dial, differs from the standard version of reference 5230 with a dark blue metal relief of the Manhattan skyline.

Reference 5230
A descendant of the legendary Patek Philippe World Time watches of the 1930s, now ultra-desirable to collectors, reference 5230 was introduced in 2016. The dial centre is adorned with a circular hand-guilloched motif. The ultra-thin self-winding movement with its two city and 24-hour rotating disks serves to keep simultaneous and permanent track of the time in all 24 time zones. Thanks to an ingenious mechanism patented in 1999, the user can simultaneously correct all the World Time displays in one-hour increments by simply pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock.
