The Archives of Audemars Piguet have confirmed that this highly complicated platinum wristwatch was sold to Germany in 1999 and fitted with the present dial by special request in 2002.
This tremendously impressive watch combines two of the great icons of Audemars Piguet’s heritage, the minute repeater and the perpetual calendar complication. Reference 25918, part of the Jules Audemars Collection, was manufactured between 1997 and 1999 and mainly sold between 1999 and 2000. Eleven pieces were made in white gold, five in pink gold and one piece in platinum – the present watch - sold in 1999.
An almost identical watch but with reference 12605PT was made as a unique piece for the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet in 2000. That watch inspired the dial of the present platinum watch that was especially fitted on request of the original owner in 2002, making this watch a singular standout piece in the Jules Audemars reference 25918 range.
