Lot Essay

According to the inscription by Wu Guanzhong on the back of the painting, he created a sketch of the Arc de Triomphe when he visited Paris in 1989. When the sketch was damaged, the artist photocopied the original drawing and added colours to complete the work. The present lot is, hence, a unique piece.
