Lot Essay

Woolworth heiress, Barbara Hutton, was one of the most generous and glamourous socialites of the 20th century. She was renowned for her vast collection of jewelry, one of the most impressive in the world. Some of the most legendary jewels from Hutton’s collection include a spectacular natural pearl necklace previously owned by Marie-Antoinette, the 40.00 carat Pasha diamond, and an extraordinary bespoke emerald and diamond tiara created by Cartier.
This tiara was gifted to the present owner by Barbara Hutton, by repute.
