Lot Essay

Founded by Oliver Elst in 2016, The Cuperior Collection is focused on contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The collection supports artists in developing and sustaining their bourgeoning practices. In 2020, the collection will establish a residency programme to support young and emerging artists to develop their skills and raise their visibility. Christie’s is pleased to present Aboudia’s Untitled, 2013, sold to benefit the future of the Cuperior Residency and the artists it supports.
