Château Lafite-Rothschild 1957
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Not in original wooden case. Scuffed capsules, one corroded. Bin-soiled and stained labels, four damaged. One label very badly bin-soiled and damaged. Levels: six upper/mid-shoulder, two mid-shoulder, four mid/low-shoulder
Tasting note from a just below top-shoulder bottle. A fine very fragile wine, tensile, with nice acidity. Smokey and soft leathery aromas. Very nice in its own aged way. Not at all tired. Classic Pauillac nose. Very nice after taste. After only 15 min the wine was going into a more mature stage. Sweeter on the nose but with a steely taste. After half hour a fine tone of cinnamon appeared. All in balance. Very good for age. A pleasant surprise. May 2016. EV.
