The first mixed-reality work to be presented at auction, Christie’s will offer Marina Abramović’s The Life as a major highlight of 20th Century: London to Paris this October, following a stateside tour to Los Angeles.

The Life provides viewers with a 19-minute performance uniquely experienced via pioneering headsets and Tin Drum’s visionary production, to bring the artist’s vision to life. A hologram of the artist appears where she proceeds to pace around a roped off five-metre circle, before evaporating into thin air. Mixed reality is an evolving technology and Abramović pushes the boundaries with it in the production of The Life.

Experience The Life for yourself during the pre-sale exhibition at Christie’s London. The view will be open to visitors by appointment from 8 to 22 October.

The Life is offered by Tin Drum, inc. in association with Abramović LLC.
