20th–21st century jewels

Leading contemporary jewelers from the East and West have reflected the influence of India in a variety of expressions. Cartier has held a long association with India, with its finest jewels from the early 20th-century period inspired by Indian architecture, gems and jewels. Renowned Parisian jeweler JAR has incorporated historic Indian stones and motifs into his work while minimalist diamond natural pearl creations of Mumbai-based Bhagat often echo traditional Indian jewellery forms but are executed with a sensibility reflecting the precision of the great European houses. Together, the selection of pieces gives us a glimpse of the cross-cultural exchange between India and the West that spans centuries.
