Designed by Cartier

Of all the great jewellery house, Cartier has had the longest and most productive association with India, and these cross-cultural references are evident in many of the spectacular Cartier creations in the collection. In the early years of the 20th century, Jacques Cartier made frequent visits to India, regularly meeting with the royal families with whom he established close relationships. As a result, many of Cartier’s finest jewels from this period were inspired by Indian architecture, gems and jewels. Highlights include a natural pearl and diamond necklace reputedly belonging to Rajmata Gayatri Devi, wife of Maharaja Sawai Singh II of Jaipur, and a hexagonal Art Deco Emerald, Diamond and Enamel Brooch of 88.03 carats.
