Virtual tour: Classic Week at Christie’s London

Take a 360-degree tour of our exhibition for the first group of Classic Week auctions in London, including Antiquities, The Exceptional Sale, the Old Masters Evening Sale, our dedicated auction of works on paper from 1500 to 1900, and more. Highlights range from a superb Attic bilingual hydria from the collection at Eastnor Castle, a fine selection of etchings by Rembrandt van Rijn, three large Roman views by Giovanni Battista Lusieri, and a portrait of Maria Cosway by Richard Cosway.

Elsewhere, encounter the Lansdowne Hermes, a Roman marble urn from the Hope Collection, a Louis XVI fauteuil by Georges Jacob from Marie Antoinette’s most intimate rooms at Versailles, Napoleon’s manuscript on the Battle of Austerlitz, a dazzling view of Heidelberg by Joseph Mallord William Turner, and a serene picture of a reclining nymph by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Alongside all this and more, explore the landmark rediscovery of the Recumbent Magdalene by the greatest Italian Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova, and the making of Bob Dylan’s 2021 studio recording of ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’.
