A chair of this design will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonée by Fulvio and Napoleone Ferrari, The complete works of Carlo Mollino, London 2005, figs. 249-250.

Mollino designed this chair together with a sofa and armchairs for Lisa Ponti on the occasion of her wedding to Luigi Licitra. Only six chairs of this model have been produced. The unusal cloven hoof form of the back attests to Carlo Mollino's interest in the occult and enigmatic.
