A view across the Bay of Ciboure on the Franco-Spanish border. Early in 1929 William Nicholson and his family spent a couple of happy months in the little fishing village of Ciboure. Another work deriving from the visit Fishing Nets Ciboure was sold in these rooms 28 November 1996, lot 20. Ciboure has since become part of St Jean de Luz.

We are very grateful to Patricia Reed for providing the catalogue entry for this lot and lot 54.
