Beauty has all but gone from what's called fine art today, to be replaced by the cryptic joke, the kitsch koan, the Gordian knot of commerce. As the artist functions as the propagator of commodified elite ironies, who will perform the ancient sacred work of the Gods and the Goddesses?....
