It is traditionally believed, that this guitar was originally ordered by Catalan guitarist and composer Miguel Llobet, as a wedding gift for his student, Elvira Mieres, of Buenos Aires. With the death of Mieres the instrument was left to her son before passing into the hands of its current owner.
