According to the Archives of IWC, the present watch was made in 1942.

This watch is an early example of an anti-magnetic wristwatch by IWC, the movement housed in a soft iron case. The case back is inscribed "hermet" for hermetic, referring to the frame to its inside, fitting around the movement when closed and hence protecting it further against magnetic fields, dirt or water infiltration.
