Lot Essay

This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné being prepared by the Anni and Josef Albers Foundation.

The proceeds of this sale will go entirely toward the operational support of Le Kinkeliba, a non-profit organization in rural Senegal that builds and runs medical centers, kindergartens, and other educational facilities. Working directly with the population it serves in a remote region of West Africa that was previously in desperate need, Le Kinkeliba is an amazing success story. With private funds it raises from individuals, foundations, and corporations, this small, hands-on operation saves lives, brings running water to communities previously without it, and makes a pivotal difference in the prevention and treatment of a range of health issues, particularly concerning women of child-bearing age and children. Le Kinkeliba provides unprecedented personal opportunities and cultural enrichment for thousands of people. www.lekinkelibaus.org
