Marked Fabergé with the Imperial warrant, Moscow, 1908-1917, with scratched inventory number 26820
Of rectangular form, the hinged cover with an enamel plate decorated with woodcocks flying over a forest, with a silver reserve beneath decorated with pan-Slavic geometric motifs and swirls, engraved with a Russian inscription, the hinge with pine cone terminals, one detachable and forming a pencil holder, marked on the lower left and on the hinge
6½ in. (16.5 cm.)
The Russian inscription reads: 'Nicolai Nicolaievich Bunge from an old friend 19 19/V 10'.
