Lot Essay

The Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch DeLuxe was manufactured to commemorate the Apollo 11 lunar landing on July 20, 1969. Production began in the fall of 1969 with the first 28 timepieces given each active astronaut in the NASA program. Production was limited to 1014 pieces with the last piece completed in 1972.
