Decorated with scrolling plumes, the hinged lid with a hand-coloured engraving of a centaur and Artemis, a further engraving to interior bordered by gilt tape embossed '25 Oct 1809' and the Garter motto, with a removable compartment, on outswept legs joined by stretchers, the lock stamped 'GR PATENT' and 'TOMESON', previously with a work-basket
