Lot Essay

Dashnak (Hai Heghapokhan Dashnaktsutyun) - The Armenian Revolutionary Federation was founded in Tiflis (modern day Tbilisi, Georgia), in 1890. Operating within Armenia and in more than 200 countries where there is an Armenian diaspora, it works towards unifying and defending Armenian nationals. After the Treaty of Sevres (1920), when Armenia fell under Soviet control, the party was banned until 1991. During the 1990s, it underwent a turbulent period of re-establishment. Since 2007, the ARF works in cooperation with the governing coalition of Armenia.
