This collage was reproduced in the March 1943 issue of VVV, the Surrealist journal edited by David Hare and published in New York between 1942 and 1944 with contributions from prominent Surrealist artists including Max Ernst, André Breton and Marcel Duchamp, who all had left war-torn Europe for the United States.
