A colour photograph exists of this painting on the wall of the Tunnard home at Lamorna, Cornwall, probably taken in the late 1950s, and this was one of the works Tunnard kept for the rest of his life. The separation of the painting into two parts, one suggesting day and the other, night, is a theme he used a number of times.
