A Rare Lacquered Two-Colour Gold Bonbonnière Set With a Miniature
Marked Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Michael Perchin, St Petersburg, circa 1890
Circular, the cover and base with cinnabar lacquer within alternating rose and yellow gold rays, the cover set with a watercolour on ivorine miniature depicting a lady in a blue robe à la française with pink bowed stomacher and flowers adorning her corsage and powdered hair (Continental, late 19th century), the base centred with a yellow gold rosette within concentric rose gold petal and yellow gold acanthus tip borders, the rose gold rims reeded and chased with acanthus tips, with fitted green leather case, marked inside cover and base

A very similar two-colour gold mounted orange lacquered bonbonnière, also with the workmaster's mark of Michael Perchin and central gold rosettes was sold Christie's, Geneva, 12 May 1981, lot 103. A comparably decorated cigarette case marked Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Michael Perchin was sold Sotheby's, London, 30 November 2009, lot 18.
