Lot Essay

The work is dedicated to Qimin (Huang Qimin 1900-1969). During the war Qiao Songshu taught Chinese language to the Huang family; after the war, Qiao requested Zhang Daqian to dedicate the couplet to the Huang family as a sign of their friendship.
