With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised gold hour markers in 1948 and its subsequent sale on 5 June 1948.

This watch is one of only twelve examples of a reference 1582 in yellow gold to appear in public to date. It impresses by its attractive modernist dial and case design and the very good overall condition.

Production of reference 1582 was launched in 1944 and ceased around 1949. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 176, pl. 277.
