Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised hour markers in steel in 1942 and its subsequent sale on 28 November 1942.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never been offered in public before. It is furthermore believed to be one of only four examples of a reference 733 in steel to have survived to date.

Reference 733 was launched in 1941 and remained in production until the early 1950s. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Steel Watches by John Goldberger, pp. 50 & 51.
