AN ENAMELLED AND SILVER-PLATED TERCENTENARY PLAQUE
NO MAKER'S MARK, RUSSIA, CIRCA 1913, RETAILED BY O. FUGALEVICH, VILNIUS
Rectangular, formed as two scrolls commemorating the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty, the upper scroll centring the interlaced gilt-metal initials 'NA' for Nicholas (Alexandrovich) II in blue enamel, surmounted by the Imperial crown inset with cabochon pastes within stylised scrolling acanthus, flanked by the dates 1613-1913 below corresponding old and new style Imperial double-headed eagles, surmounted with ribbon-tied oak branches enclosing the Roman numerals 'CCC' in white enamel, the lower section engraved with facsimile signatures of Emperors and Empresses, Tsars and Tsarinas of the Romanov dynasty from Mikhail Feodorovich to Alexander III and suspending a copper medallion simulating the scroll seal depicting St George and the Imperial double-headed eagle on either side, mounted on crimson velvet-lined wood panel, marked on lower edge of the lower scroll
