Circular, the centre gilt with octofoil strapwork, the border decorated with gilt, green and red foliate and strapwork ornaments, centring the monogram of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich, with gilt rim, marked under base with underglaze blue factory mark

Lot Essay

Based on a design by Feodor Solntsev (1801-1892), the designer of the Kremlin Service, this service was made between 1848-1852. It was ordered on the occasion of the marriage of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich to Alexandra Iosifovna, Princess of Saxe-Altenburg in 1848.
