Inspired by modern technology, You Jin formed his unique artistic language. His works composed almost only of pure colour, he combined artificial fluorescence with lines, segments and spots of organic colour to represent new worlds, which are splendid yet, lied with hidden dangers. Standing against the gloomy and impenetrably dark background, the phantasm in the picture is colourful and magnificent. Double tower is a traditional Chinese architecture, exquisite and rises high up into the sky, but here in its distorted form, it is toppling, resembling its illusory reflection in the water, graceful but never lasts. Suggesting both the glory and latent peril of contemporary civilization, as well as China's rapid urbanization and the hidden worry of modernization, this painting reflects the artist's doubtful and resigned attitude towards the so-called civilization advancement.
