The watch with gilt-finished keywound cylinder movement, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, set in the engraved floral and scroll decorated gilt cover plate of the rectangular book-form box, concealed under a hinged colour decorated with a painted polychrome enamel scene depicting playing children and three hatchlings in a nest, champlevé polychrome enamel floral decorated sides and spine, the whole opening to reveal a silver gilt compartment containing a key, unsigned
