LOTS 2275-2284 PROPERTY FROM THE DE YI XUAN COLLECTION The owner of De Yi Xuan has travelled extensively for his career in West Africa and North America. His first interest in Chinese paintings was sparked by an exhibition in Africa in 1979, where Chinese artists such as Wu Guanzhong were showcased on the continent for the first time. He later relocated to North America, and with his passion he became a student of artist He Baili, at the same time began to form his own collection of paintings. Through collecting he became friends with renowned collector Wang Jiqian, where he learned extensively from Wang's precious collection. He also got to know artists such as Cheng Shifa, Zhu Qizhan and Tang Yun, all of whom have guided him throughout his journey of collecting and acquiring knowledge in Chinese paintings.
