Keyless jewelled lever movement, repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, engine-turned circular case, inlaid blue enamel Roman numerals to the glazed aperture in the front, a sheet of paper showing a schedule dated June 1884 to the inside back cover, repeating slide in the band, case numbered, cuvette signed and numbered

Lot Essay

With Ancne Mon J.F. Bautte Rossel et Fils Genève original fitted wooden presentation box containing two spare crystals.

J. Rossel & Fils were the successors of the long-established watch manufacturer J. F. Bautte & Cie., founded in Geneva in 1790. Between 1860 and 1883, the firm signed "Successeurs to J.F. Bautte Genève". Manufacturers of fine watches and jewellery, J. Rossel & Fils were awarded First Class medals at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851 and in Paris in 1855.
