Lot Essay

The treatment of the foliage and elements like the water lilies of this painting are close in style to Abraham Govaerts and can be compared to a signed work Meleager and Atalante in the National Gallery, Prague (see U. Härtings, Abraham Govaerts, der Waldmaler (1589/1626), Schoten, 2004, p. 165, no. 179).
