Lot Essay

This painting, dedicated to Shiqiu, is Gao Hua, brother of Gao Lingmei. An avid fan of Peking Opera, his mentors included Wang Yaoqing, Mei Lanfang and Cheng Yanqiu. Gao performed Snow in June in Taipei in 1959.
