COLLECTION OF SONG KEJUN
The collector of these paintings, Song Kejun, native of Guilin, Guangxi province, was born in 1922. During the war years he entered the Guilin Political War-time Sketching Team, before joining the China Wood-Carving Against Enemies Group. From 1940 to 1942 Song was active in spreading anti-war propaganda through the use of art forms in Guangxi, Guangdong and Hunan. In 1942 he entered the Guangxi Arts Department, furthering his studies in Chongqing in 1944 at Xu Beihong's China Art Academy. In 1946 to 1995 Song participated in numerous art exhibitions and took up several art positions, most importantly, at Chongqing's Islamic Art Academy.
