etching, 1546, watermark Double-headed Eagle in Shield with Crown and Initials M (similar to Briquet 326, 1589-91, Brünn), a good though slightly later impression of this very rare etching, printing with platetone and spots of foul-biting, with margins, a tear across the lower left corner of the subject, the sheet backed in this area, with an associated small paper loss at the lower left plate edge, a small tear and paper loss at the lower sheet edge well outside the subject, some foxing and staining mainly in the margins, a paper guard along the left sheet edge verso where previously bound
