Can be related to a series of drawings attributed to Poussin's studio which are studies for the decoration of the Grande Galerie in the Louvre (see P. Rosenberg and L.-A. Prat, Nicolas Poussin 1594-1665. catalogue raisonné des dessins, Milan, 1994, II, nos. A1-A74).
