Lot Essay

An embroidery of beautiful dimensions, excellent date and provenance, in perfect condition: when our paths crossed, we had already been immersed in the study of Boetti's art for some time. It was impossible not to acquire it: you only had to look at it and you were unable to resist. Extremely beautiful in the colours that are intense, yet restrained at the same time, typical of the early embroideries. Within the grid so characteristic of Boetti, Addizione (Addition) develops in a vertical direction:
numbers +
numbers +
numbers + ....
Nothing could give a better idea of the mathematical operation, in terms of concept. Boetti's simplicity is as disarming as it is fascinating.
