Lot Essay

Nella serie dei Nudo - di cui un magnifico esemplare in marmo è stato recentemente venduto nelle nostre aste londinesi - Luciano Fabro presenta una forma monolitica, straordinariamente essenziale, che evoca una forma umana, in questo caso appoggiata su una balaustra.
Nei Nudi in marmo, realizzati nel 1988, la lastra color carne era languidamente appoggiata su alcuni gradini; Fabro aveva esposto tre esemplari di questa serie in marmo presso la Galleria Pieroni di Roma. Nel 1989, l'artista decide di confrontarsi con il ferro. La forma continua ad evocare la presenza umana, gioca con il concetto duchampiano del "nudo", ma in questo cas, sfruttando la verticalità della lastra, l'artista decide di appoggiare l'elemento "corporeo" su un tavolo o una balaustra. Così facendo sceglie non solo di forzare i limiti spaziali ma al contempo di evocare stati d'animo legati all'attesa e alla sospensione, come suggerisce anche il titolo di questo lavoro. Dimostrando la straordinaria capacità di declinare in forme rigorose eppure evocative un materiale tanto antico quanto è il ferro, l'artista produce l'effetto di rendere concreta l'idea di forma corporea suggerita dal blocco di ferro.
