Cal. 285 mechanical jeweled movement, black lacquer dial, applied baton and Arabic numerals, outer railway five minute divisions, tachometre scale, three subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour registers, circular case, dust cover, screw back, two round chronograph buttons in the band, stainless steel link bracelet and deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed

According to the archives of Universal, the present watch was manufactured in 1946 and was delivered to Hermès.

The present watch is a beautiful example of a Universal watch housing their famous calibre 285 and especially made for Hermès. The case has an unusual construction that is aimed at rendering the watch "climate proof" to withstand changes in the weather.
