Lot Essay

'Dans le titre donné à mes peintures le mot MIRE est employé dans un sens équivoque. Il évoque d'une part un "point de mire" (c'est-à-dire la focalisation du regard sur un point précis dans un étendue continue) et d'autre part l'aspect des choses réflété par un miroir.'

'In the title given to my paintings the word MIRE is used in an equivocal sense. On the one hand, it evokes a "focal point" (that is to say the focus of the eye on a specific point in a continuous range) and on the other hand the appearance of things reflected in a mirror.'
