The Breguet La Musicale plays a famous aria by the Italian composer Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868), either on demand pressing the button at 10 o'clock, or at the desired time for a melodic reminder.
This is achieved by a patented application of a music-box mechanism principle. A disc carrying the pins replaces the classical music-box cylinder and alternately acts on the 15 metal teeth of the comb. A metallic glass membrane amplifies the frequencies needed to emit the tune, as well as guaranteeing water resistance.
