A LATE 19TH CENTURY SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND PENDANT
Of cluster design, the cushion shaped sapphire weighing approximately 41.54 carats, to an old-cut diamond line border and further cushion shaped diamond surround, circa 1880, 3.5cm long, later gold plated
Maker's mark AG
Accompanied by report no.72376 dated 2 September 2014 from The Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), stating the 41.543ct sapphire is natural, shows no indications of heating, origin Burma, adding, 'the colour may be referred to as Royal Blue in the trade'
