Lot Essay

Thomas Hirschhorn frequently takes on controversial and politicized content in his work. In CNN Necklace he has used the popular logo of the ubiquitous cable news channel to make a dramatically enlarged gold chain, transmuting urban ready-mades into an art work whilst ironizing the twenty-four hour news cycle that CNN developed in the 1980s.
