Samy Kinge has confirmed the authenticity of this work.
The first owner of this work was Gordon Onslow-Ford, a British painter and adherent of the Surrealist movement. His collection, which included works by Roberta Matta and Yves Tanguy, was on extended loan to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from 1972-1992.
