laminated wood slats, in four parts
each: 60 x 61 x 61 cm.
Executed in 1989, this work is based on the design from 1984 for the work that Sol LeWitt designed to be placed in front of the new extension by architecht Wim Quist of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, The Hague. The large scale sculptures have never been executed.
Provenance
Acquired directly from the artist by Martin Visser in 1990.

Otterlo, Kröller-Müller Museum (on permanent loan).
Oxford, The Museum of Modern Art, Sol LeWitt - Structures 1962-1993, 1993, no. 102 (a larger version exhibited, a larger version illustrated, unpaged), as: Geometric Figures Solid . This exhibition later travelled to: Munich, Villa Stuck, 1993; Leeds, Henry Moore Institute, 1993; Edinburgh, Fruitmarket Gallery, 1993-1994 and Bremen, Neues Museum Westerburg, 1994.
