Lot Essay

Daan van Golden and Martin Visser met for the first time in 1978, when Visser was curator of the Boijmans-Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. In that capacity he organized an exhibition of Van Golden's work. They kept friendly contact and Visser kept on purchasing his work. Dutch artists were not the primary focus of Visser, but for Van Golden he had great respect.
