The brass patterned base with broad brass borders, faceted stem and beaded details are closely related to a rosewood center table stamped ‘S Turner’, London or Chester, sold Sotheby’s, London, 3 July 1990, lot 119 (illustrated C. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, pl. 922).
