Lot Essay

The present piece will impress even the most spoiled of collectors with its perfectly preserved black gloss dial and generous dimensions. Aesthetically, it perfectly marries today’s taste for larger timepieces with an ineffable mid-20th century vibe highlighted by the stainless steel case, gilt graphics, and chronographic minute subsidiary dial featuring markers at 3, 6 and 9 minutes. These markers were used to time telephone conversations, which usually were charged in 3 minutes increments.
